I've not had the watch "bug" since six in the past once i proceeded a little buying spree. In regards to a week ago it hit me again. Ah well...

I prefer the appearance of open skeleton movements (particularly those with exhibition backs), and i also like automatic or mechanical movements instead of quartz mill movements. I discover their whereabouts beautiful and fascinating. That said I cannot afford to spend thousands for any luxury Swiss made watch (although I really do employ a few low end ones). Well , i usually troll about the web looking at the less costly (i.e. cheap) brands. A short time ago I stumbled onto this watch on Amazon and fell crazy about it's looks, and price. Irrrve never been aware of Akribos XXIV though I did so attend the website. They operate out of Brooklyn N.Y. Their website looks like it's down as I could hardly view their posted watch collections.

Good looking design.

Open skeleton face ans exhibition back.

For this kind of busy front the hands are simple enough to discover.

Attractive dress watch, particularly with a dark suit.

Appears to keep blast. Mine has gained 40 seconds in five days. Excellent for any Chinese movement.

Simple watch. No complications (i.e. date, day, date, week, etc.) only time. So less chance of it dying.

Cons:

Very poor crown design. Mine can be quite challenging to get out because designers have left no space relating to the crown and the case to slide a finger nail in and get against eachother. I came across that gripping it which has a piece of rubber band between my thumb and forefinger I had been able to pull it to regulate the time. Can be earning !; should your accustomed to which has a watch with a date complication chances are you'll forget and attempt to pull it out two stops to any time. Since this watch only tells time that it only moves out one-stop.

Chinese movement: It may vary wildly in quality control even from watch to watch of the same model. You can receive a good one or maybe you may get a dud. It's cheap so don't expect Swiss quality, and address it if we do TLC when winding and adjusting. The Chinese automatic movements around my Stuhrling and Nicolet watches still keep almost nearly as good time as my Swiss made KINGMATIC Movado automatic, and they are an appealing on top of that.

Although it's automatic possibly you have to wind it at night before you go to bed when i doubt it's got a great deal of reserve because the more advanced autos.

(You are able to seen the mainspring from the front with the watch from the 12:30 position. In the event the the bands are tightly together it's fully wound. If you have to wind it NEVER wind it into a full point since you can easily break it. Wind it simply to the point you really feel a strong resistance and observe the mainspring).
